Norwegian Cruise Line budgets money for upgrades
Norwegian Cruise Line said it will spend $250 million bringing some features of its new ships, such as O’Sheehan’s Bar Grill, to older vessels.
The line said its program, called Norwegian Next, will encompass ship revitalizations, dining enhancements and new experiences in entertainment and guest activities, along with innovations in technology, new tropical destinations and the line’s continued commitment to the environment.
Through 2015, Norwegian has plans to revitalize a number of vessels, including the Norwegian Jewel, Pearl, Sky and Spirit.
The Jewel already has added O’Sheehan’s. In addition, the Jewel will be getting a Sugarcane Mojito Bar, first introduced on Norwegian Getaway.
Some components of the program have been previously announced. Treats from Carlo’s Bake Shop will be available fleetwide, for example.
A partnership with the Michael Mondavi Family has already introduced a new wine menu across the fleet, and the family is curating wine concepts for Norwegian’s upcoming new ships.
Another component, the H2GLOW Party, was introduced on Breakaway and Getaway and will be rolled out fleetwide.
