Will Hurricane Harvey impact your flight? Airlines offering re-bookings – KTRK
Ahead of Hurricane Harvey’s anticipated landfall on the Gulf coast, several airlines are working with customers to rebook travel to and from airports throughout the region:
AMERICAN AIRLINES will work with customers traveling to or from Austin, Beaumont, Brownsville, College Station, Corpus Christi, Harlingen, Houston, Lake Charles, McAllen or San Antonio, to re-book travel free of charge. The ticket in question must have been purchased before Aug. 23 for travel between Aug. 25 and 27, and the passenger can re-book between Aug. 23 and 30, among other conditions.
DELTA is waiving change fees and fare differences for customers traveling to, from or through Houston. Tickets booked for Aug. 25 or 26 must be re-booked by Aug. 29.
FRONTIER AIRLINES is allowing one-time itinerary changes for customers traveling to, from or through Austin, San Antonio, Houston and New Orleans. Tickets booked for Aug. 24 through 27 must be re-booked by Sept. 18.
JETBLUE will waive change/cancel fees and fare differences for customers traveling Friday, Aug. 25 through Saturday, Aug. 26 to/from Austin, Houston, or New Orleans. Customers may rebook their flights for travel Aug. 27 through Wednesday, Aug. 30 online in the ‘Manage Flights’ section of jetblue.com or by calling 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583) prior to the departure time of their originally scheduled flight. Customers with cancelled flights may also opt for a refund to the original form of payment. Original travel must have been booked on or before Wednesday, Aug. 23.
SOUTHWEST AIRLINES flying to, from or through Austin, Corpus Christi, Houston, Harlingen or San Antonio can rebook or fly standby at no additional charge for all travel scheduled between Aug. 25 and 27. All travel must be rebooked within 14 days of the original travel date.
SPRIT AIRLINES will waive modification charges and fare differences for customers booked through Bush Intercontinental Airport. Travel must be scheduled between Aug. 25 and 27 and it must be rebooked by Aug. 30.
UNITED is waiving change fees and fare differences for customers traveling to, from or through Austin, Brownsville, College Station, Corpus Christi, Harlingen, Houston, McAllen and San Antonio. Tickets booked for Aug. 25 through 27 must be re-booked by Aug. 30.
WESTJET has implemented ‘flexible change and cancel rules‘ for customers traveling through Houston between Aug. 24 and 26. Customers should contact 1-888-937-8538 for more information.

As of Thursday afternoon, Carnival Cruise Line has not adjusted its itinerary based on Harvey’s anticipated impact. Passengers booked on the Freedom, Valor or Breeze ships can sign up for text alerts by texting “CCL1” (for Freedom passengers), “CCL2” (for Valor passengers) or “CCL3” (for Breeze passengers) to CRUISE (278473) for the latest information.
