Santorini travel: Savour a wide array of local culture on a 3-day island-hopping cruise – Daily Star

As I settled into my comfortable cabin, I noticed the welcome pack issued to all passengers, including a bottle of local Greek wine. It’s a well-kept secret that Greece 
produces superb wines but not in volumes big enough to export. 

In the ship’s restaurant, I tucked into a feast of Greek salad and fresh seafood. There is plenty of choice in the buffet and friendly waiter service at hand. 

It set me up to explore the leisure and pleasure facilities the ship has to offer and I booked myself in for a relaxing back and neck massage at the spa treatment room before going in search of a long, cool drink in one of the many bars. 

It’s in the evening when the ship really comes alive, with entertainment in all of the bars. 

There is also a Hellenic-inspired cabaret show in the main theatre room, also with waiter service. 

The magical, glitzy island of Mykonos was our first call and, with our ship anchored, I was dropped off on the busy quayside close to the old town. 

Further along the winding, well-trodden cobbled streets, there are plenty of shops selling locally made products including honey, jewellery, ceramics and clothing, as well as the high-end international brand emporiums.
