But NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said he was already seeing people breaching advice to stay a safe distance from others, and had watched a group of cyclists bunched together at a coffee shop.

“Certainly from what I have seen, there are a lot more people out, but there are also a lot of people who are not actually adhering to the social distancing message,” he said.

“We need vigilance and we need to make sure the sacrifice we have all endured in the last few months sees positive outcomes going forward.”

Three new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm on Friday night, from almost 9900 tests. One was an overseas traveller, one a close contact of an eastern suburbs case, and the third case remained under investigation.

Professor Kidd said on Saturday that Australia has passed the million-test mark, with a total of 1,015,652 tests identifying 7037 cases of COVID-19.
