MSC Cruises expedites move to Port Canaveral

MSC Cruises will accelerate its move to Port Canaveral to
this November. The line had planned to launch cruises from the port next
spring.

The cruise line will operate a year-round schedule of
sailings split between two ships, the MSC Seaside (starting in November) and
the MSC Divina (starting March 2021).

The Seaside will sail a mix of three-, four- and seven-day
cruises through March 2021, visiting the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Nassau and private
island Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. The Divina will replace the Seaside in
Port Canaveral in March 2021. 

MSC earlier this month said it would expand to Port
Canaveral in 2021, while canceling planned seasons out of New York and Tampa.

Ruben Rodriguez, president of MSC Cruises USA, said in a
statement that Port Canaveral “is easily accessible, offers innovative and
modern terminals and provides convenient access to many attractions in the
surrounding area.”

MSC also said today that in line with CLIA’s recent
announcement to push back its cruise resumption date to Sept. 15, MSC would
also voluntarily extend its temporary suspension of U.S. operations until Sept.
15.
