American Cruise Lines Pushes Back Restart to August

American Cruise Lines has canceled its July 22 Grand New England cruise, pushing back its restart into August for cruises in the U.S.

The small ship cruise line will resume sailing of the Mississippi River, Maine Coast, Chesapeake Bay, Hudson River, Historic South cruises between Charleston and Florida, the Great Rivers of Florida cruises, and Columbia and Snake Rivers cruises in the Pacific North West.

Puget Sound cruises and Alaska will be back in 2021.

American Cruise Lines recently changed their policies, and no longer offer refunds, but will still offer full refunds or 125% credit for any cruises American suspends/cancels. It also offering Cruise with Comfort, giving guests 100% cruise voucher credit and the ability to cancel for any reason 24 hours before their cruise or cruise package on cruises departing through Dec. 31, 2020.

The company also has the Travel Advisor Protection plan protecting 100% of commissions for original sailing dates when cruise vouchers are selected. Commissions will be paid based on the original sailing date for any payments made toward commissionable items.

American Cruise Lines has reported that its advance bookings for the 2021 season are currently at more than 25% higher than the same time last year, as more look towards domestic travel as an initial entry back into travel.
