Explore the hisltory of Fuliang Ancient County Bureau House

Fuliang Ancient County Bureau House is located in north side of Jingde Town, Jiangxi province. It was first built in 817 A.D of Tang Dynasty, with an history of more than 1800 years. The ancient county bureau house was called “Yamen” in old times, Within the yamen, the bureaucrat administered the government business of the town or region. The word “Yamen” was originated from the word ” Teeth Gate”, because in ancient times bureau officers liked to put teeth of beasts inside the house, symbolizing the authority and privilege.

Fuliang Ancient County Bureau House covers an area of 64495 square meters, with construction style mixed from two provinces, looking very unique. The high light of the bureau house is official tablet from sacred emperor of Qing dynasty, saying the Fifth Level of the Fuliang Main Court House. It is a well-preserved government location of Qing dynasty, and it gives a good presentation of how the bureau office looked like in ancient times.
