Turns out that guys who are unlucky in love make for the best travelmates.

After getting dumped by his fiancé over Christmas break, a man from Leicestershire, England is looking for a random woman to take on his honeymoon.

John Whitbread, 32, put his spare ticket on ebay after his fiancé told him that she didn’t want to walk down the aisle. The honeymoon to the Dominican Republic includes all-inclusive accommodations at a four-star luxury resort and costs about $2,300.

According to his posting on eBay, Whitbread was dumped six weeks before their Valentine’s Day wedding, and the travel company wouldn’t reimburse him for her ticket. “I can only respect her honesty, I’m not bitter and you just have to move on with life,” Whitbread wrote. “I’ve worked hard for this holiday and hate to see money go to waste.”

So who is his perfect travel companion? Whitbread says that he is looking for a woman (no men allowed) who is athletic, easy going, down to earth, be a British citizen, and have a passport. He also adds that being good looking “wouldn’t go amiss.”

The woman selected will have to share a room with Whitbread. “I’m 5’9 dark hair, slim build,” he writes. “I’ve got no criminal record, although sometimes I should be locked away for my snoring.”

Whitbread posted the ad using the hashtag #girlfromthepublictodominicanrepublic, and with just eight days left, he’s already received 48 bids. Currently the highest bid is £1,171.00 (about $1,400).

After being overwhelmed with the response, Whitbread has pledged to donate any money over £1,050 to testicular cancer research. “People have said I’ve got real balls to do this,” he told The Telegraph. “So I thought I might as well try and make some money for charity if I can, too.”

The flight leaves Manchester for Puerto Plata on Monday, February 16 at 9:45 p.m. (local time) and arrives back at 5:35 a.m. on March 3, 2015.
