Gloria Hunniford to be godmother of Cruise & Maritime’s new ship Magellan

Magellan is currently sailing to the UK for the naming ceremony on Thursday March 12, and is due into London Tilbury cruise terminal early next week.

Gloria will name the ship in Tilbury in front of 1,000 invited guests from the travel industry, followed by two special passenger evenings of onboard events on March 13 and 14.

Mike Hall, Head of Marketing at CMV, said: “We are delighted that Gloria can be part of this great day in our history. She is a popular TV presenter and much loved by the British public.”

Gloria has been a popular TV presenter for many years, and her shows have included Loose Women, The One Show and Rip Off Britain.

Magellan will be the new flagship of the CMV adults-only fleet, and was being refitted in Greece before sailing to Britain for next week’s ceremony.

Built in 1985, Magellan has a classic cruise ship look and will carry just 1,250 passengers on traditional cruises aimed at the British market.
