Hilton slashes rates in Caribbean

• The Hilton is holding a Caribbean summer sale with rates from $99 a night. The Stay Play Longer deal applies to participating hotels and resorts in seven Caribbean destinations (Curacao, Bahamas, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, etc.) and features a free fourth night, $100 resort credit and gratis stays for kids. Minimum stay of four nights required. Prices vary. For example, in late July, four nights at the Hilton Barbados Resort costs $914, including taxes, a savings of $304. • The all-inclusive Mango Bay Hotel in Barbados is offering reduced rates for stays through Dec. 22. Discount of 30 percent applies to June and September, with savings of 25 percent for other months. • American Cruise Lines is offering a free extra night and an early booking discount on several holiday cruises. For example, book a seven-night New Year’s Eve cruise aboard the American Eagle departing from New Orleans on Dec. 27 and receive a free night Dec. 26, including dinner at Antoine’s and a holiday concert at the J.N. • Costa Cruises has a sale on select European cruises from September through November. Rates start at $399 per person double, plus tax, for a weeklong western Mediterranean cruise and $699 for an 11-night trip around the eastern portion.
