Azamara Club Cruises reveals more details of multi-million-pound refurbishment

This is a room already popular for cocktail receptions and captain’s parties for frequent cruisers, but it will also be hired out for small-group dinners.

The Pool Grill will remain complimentary, though, and continue to serve all-day ice cream and beef burgers, along with salmon burgers, vegetarian burgers and blackened fish paninis.

It will be “significantly refurbished”, however, with a new bar, and the Pool Bar the other side of the pool and two Jacuzzis will also be upgraded.

Discoveries Restaurant, the main dining room, will be subject to a “huge refurbishment” said Twynam, and both ships will get the “new carpets, lighter panels and lots of creams, browns and beige” treatment, he said, because “this décor is coming to the end of its life”.

And for those who want any more assurances of an elegant, but very modern make-over, he said: “We are a floating boutique hotel and we really like elements of the Four Seasons Hotels brand.”

Azamara Journey will enter drydock in January 2016 and Azamara Quest in April 2016 and, not surprisingly, bookings are coming in fast.
