Surprising Benefits of Business trips!

I knew that I wouldn’t be able to pull off a ‘nine to five’ job. I needed to be on the go and stagnancy could kill me. I have always had this wanderlust in me and nothing gave me more happiness than to visit a place I have never been before. Knowing this, I planned my career accordingly as I knew travel was the field for me. I joined the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management to get a formal degree which would help me prosper in this field.

But that’s me. I know there are thousands out there who love to do the same, but they don’t land up in the tourism industry. Not everyone can graduate form the travel and tourism courses in India. At the most you can make the most of your business trips and not look at them at as a duty that you are off to do! Here are a few benefits of business trips that would make you feel better about your jobs!

It’s a new place!

Feel good about the fact that it is not your same old city! See, most of the time you would be there for official purpose, but there is no harm in exploring he city once you are done with your share of work. I know the hotel is luxurious and giving you all the comfort you ever wanted for, but there is nothing compared to what lies outside! Go out in the hustle bustle of the city, meet the locals and just get lost in the anonymity!

New cuisines on your way!

Recently my friend was sulking about a trip that he had to make to Hyderabad. I suggested, instead of feeling bad, he can see it as the golden opportunity of having authentic Hyderabadi Biriyani! And guess what, it worked! She loved walking down the streets of the city and tasted the best Biriyani from one of the most reputed restaurant. It was a short two day office trip, but the new taste of the new cuisine made her stay ‘delicious’!

Better opportunity to network

Like I said, you are free after you are done with the meetings or the presentations, the evening are generally free. This is the time you get a chance to network with your colleagues who might have accompanied you. Go out for a drink with your boss, and colleagues, talk about something apart from work, and form new bonds! That’s how you would have better relations at your workplace which would improve your productivity!
