European Waterways waives barge cruise solo fees
European Waterways waived the single supplement on many of its hotel barge cruises for the remainder of the 2017 season.
The promotion is applicable to sailings on the Anjodi, L’Art de Vivre, Panache, L’Impressionniste, Renaissance and Finesse in France; La Bella Vita in Italy; and the Spirit of Scotland, which sails through the Scottish Highlands.
Explaining why he believes hotel barges make for a good experience for passengers traveling alone, Derek Banks, managing director of European Waterways, said, “It’s easy to get lost in the crowd of larger vessels, which typically carry hundreds of passengers. But hotel barges carry only a small group of like-minded passengers the social nature of hotel barging is one of its greatest appeals.”
The barge cruises include daily excursions including strolling through villages and marketplaces and visiting cultural landmarks as well as wine tastings, live performances and demonstrations from local artists and craftsmen.
Hotel barging is a slower paced, more intimate cruising experience along the smaller canals and waterways of Europe.
