Windstar doing cruise-tours in Alaska

Windstar Cruises is offering four land tours as pre- or
post-cruise options for Alaska cruises.

This year marks the first time in more than 20 years that
Windstar has cruised in Alaska.

Cruise-tour packages start at $4,269 per person, and include
four days of land excursions and lodging in Alaska.

Two of the packages are in conjunction with the Star Legend’s
repositioning cruises to and from Japan. A third starts in Vancouver and goes
to Fairbanks, while a fourth does the reverse.

On the 18-day Denali Alaskan Wilderness Cruise Tour,
the four-day land tour portion in Alaska begins in Fairbanks, where guests can
explore downtown before boarding the Riverboat Discovery up the Chena River
then driving to Denali National Park to embark on an excursion searching for
wildlife, like caribou and grizzlies.

Guests then travel to Talkeetna aboard a domed train to
enjoy the area’s colorful history and a farewell dinner.
