Art Ware’s Gospel Hour interviews Carnival Cruise CEO
Saratoga Springs
Art Ware has been broadcasting his Sunday morning 91.1 FM Radio Gospel Hours for years featuring icons ranging from Mahalia Jackson to Elvis Presley as well as contemporary Christian music.
This Sunday, his show airing 8 to 9 a.m. will devote the full hour to an interview with Arnold Donald, President CEO Carnival Corporation, who made headlines as Carnival’s first African American CEO. Donald will offer insights into cruise travel and he will examine a new trend: churches establishing travel and vacation ministries.
“A lot of churches are starting travel ministries; some go on tours of the Holy Land but others go to Alaska or the Caribbean and other destinations,” Ware explained. “Most of the bigger ships have a chapel or worship space on board.”
Churches often have gospel music on board for entertainment or conduct Bible studies. After Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, some churches went to the island by cruise ship on mission trips to help with rebuilding.
Donald oversees Carnival’s entire family of cruise brands which include Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, Cunard and Costa Cruises.
