Holland America Line cancels another Veendam cruise
Holland America Line said it would need more time to complete propeller repairs to the Veendam, so it canceled a second Canada/New England cruise.
The Oct. 2 departure from Boston has been scrapped, after HAL canceled a Sept. 28 sailing from Quebec.
“We are extremely sorry that our guests’ cruise vacations have been affected in this way and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” a HAL statement said.
Guests booked on the Boston-Quebec seven-day cruise will get a full refund plus a 100% future cruise credit. HAL said it would reimburse any nonrefundable expenses such as missed tours and excursions booked through HAL.
The Veendam remains docked in Quebec, where propeller repairs are ongoing.
