Wyndham Hotel Group just wrapped their One Million Dollar Sweepstakes this past November, which was hosted by one of the more recognizable New York natives. Fortunately, the news allowed us an opportunity to lob a few questions at Broadway’s Tony Danza, who has some travel tips to share.
The 63-year-old actor who has starred in Who’s the Boss?, Taxi and Don Jon is currently involved in the musical Honeymoon in Vegas.
Being the good sport, he also helped dole out $10,000 prizes to those entered in the Wyndham Rewards One Million Dollar Sweepstakes on Nov. 13.
Here he is helping Rewards member William Cabell celebrate his $10,000 turn of good fortune.

Danza was able to answer a few questions via email, and we just had to get his thoughts on Broadway, New York travel and more. Here is what followed:
TravelPulse: How does your work in Honeymoon in Vegas differ from previous Broadway works? What drives you most about the character? What’s the best aspect that might delight New York visitors about the musical?
Tony Danza: I’m really excited about being back on Broadway because now I get to originate a role. It’s been such an exciting ride – everything from recording the cast album to performing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade for the first time. It’s been a thrill to see it come from Papermill to Broadway!
TP: Do you get out to Broadway outside Honeymoon? What are some works that have stuck with you in the past year, or perhaps that you are dying to see?
TD: Of course I do! I have always been a big fan and supporter of Broadway. It’s difficult now to see everything now that our show has started, but I recently saw On The Town and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time.
TP: Being a native New Yorker, we simply have to know how you see the city. Some of the most crucial tips come from those who know and adore the town personally. Are there favorite events, restaurants, diners that we might not know that you absolutely love?
TD: This cheese shop in Nolita called Aleva – You have to visit!
TP: Perhaps there are some tips that we non-New Yorkers should heed to get the most out of a trip?
TD: Check out a Broadway show and eat at a Patsy’s restaurant.
TP: What’s next for one of the most well-known actors in showbiz? Will there be more Broadway or can we expect something different in 2015?
TD: Right now I’m focusing on my return to Broadway with the show opening on January 15th. It will certainly be an exciting 2015.
And we too are looking for an exciting 2015—one that may just mandate a trip to Manhattan to take in a musical or two.
Judging by some of the pictures to make it onto Yelp, we think we have to also heed some solid advice and dive into a bowl of pasta at Patsy’s on 56th.
