Capture your love with a ‘honeymoon photoshoot’
The pre-wedding shoot is over; the wedding film has been shot; the photographer has captured you and your sweetheart from every angle in the many events leading to your wedding, but now what?
How do you capture fantastic candid photographs of you with your spouse that will set social media on fire? Simple, just schedule a few hours with a professional photographer during your honeymoon and you’ll rock!
SPECIAL SHOOTS
Many couples are already hiring photographers to capture their honeymoon in exotic locales. Pritish Shah, a travel agent who specializes in honeymoon packages, said, “These days, most couples with big budgets are going for month-long honey moons in places like New Zealand, South Africa and Italy. To jazz up the holiday, they look for different things to do, which includes a photoshoot. We organize professional photographers at the honeymoon destination, who do a photoshoot with the couple.” We have recently started hiring even videographers to make short honeymoon films,” Pritish said.
The photographers rarely tag along from the couple’s hometown, as flying them to destinations abroad and paying for their stay and food prove to be too expensive and doesn’t make sense logistically. A half-day shoot would cost you anything upwards of `50,000. The cost goes up depending on what you want -a sunset while on a cruise, a helicopter flying you to a remote cliff, a musician, champagne in the frame… Sigh, the list is endless.
UTILIZE THE LOCATIONS
“People these days prefer honeymoon shoots over pre-wedding shoots because the location plays a major role. As it is, you are spending lakhs and travelling to picturesque locations, so why not utilize the opportunity to get yourself photographed there? What better can you get than exotic locales in the backdrop,” Pritish added.
Ayush and Shweta Agarwal, who went for a 10-day honeymoon to New Zealand and Australia, zeroed in on the idea after they saw beautiful honeymoon pictures of a couple on social media. “I went ahead with it, as I wanted to make our first trip together special. So, the travel agent arranged for a helicopter to take us to a cliff, where a beautiful lunch was arranged. On that location, we had the privilege of having a professional photographer clicking us exclusively . The best part was that the pictures were edited and given to us the very next day . Till date, we have received many queries asking us about how we got it done.”
Vidushi Mandhyan and Pratik Agarwal, who went for a month-long honeymoon to New Zealand and French Polynesia, also got a shoot done. “I love clicking and getting photographed. My husband and I really enjoyed the pre-wedding photo shoot and wanted to get one done post-wedding. So, when we learnt of honeymoon photography , it seemed to be the perfect chance. It also was like an activity and livened up the month-long vacation. Again, after such beautiful pictures, we didn’t have to go requesting every stranger to click us. Firstly , it is not always possible to find people in romantic locations. Mostly , they, too, are honeymooners and you don’t want to disturb them by asking them to photograph you.Secondly , it is not only dangerous to hand over expensive equipment like camera to strangers, but you are not sure about the quality of pictures clicked by random people. I have seen people returning from their honeymoon with hardly any pictures, but thank god, we have such beautiful memories on reel. We loved the idea so much that we again hired photographers when we went to South Africa for our second honeymoon last month.”
On the other hand, Ayush and Ankita Keyal gave the concept a shot, as they love candid photography .
So, if you are planning to go on a honeymoon soon, you know what to do.
