Branson named top romantic destination by travel website

BRANSON, Mo. –

All day long workers at Petals Flower Shop in Branson have been frantically filling Valentine’s Day orders.

“We just had an order for 110 red roses that’s waiting to be delivered,” Joyce Carman said. “It’s crazy busy, crazy busy.”

All that work is necessary, after all they’re filling orders for what some say is one of the world’s most romantic cities.

Tripadvisor, a popular travel site, named Branson one of the best romantic vacation spots in the world, citing the city’s shows and its outdoor activities.

Lists like that are what brought Texans Delois and Barry Geary to the Ozarks just for Valentines Day.

“Just researching we thought it was going to be really romantic on the water,” Delois Geary said.

Many visitors say Branson is living up to all that affectionate hype.

“So far it has, yes, I think so,” Barry Geary said.

“We’ve always thought this is an incredibly great place to get together and renew our love for each other and enjoy the company of each other,” Bruce Roquet said. Roquet is visiting Branson with his wife.

Others say Branson is romantic, but they aren’t sold on it being the most romantic spot.

“if you really want to enjoy a beautiful honeymoon or valentines day I would say of all the traveling I’ve ever done would have been Hawaii,” John Flicek said.
