Leicestershire’s ‘Jilted John’ finally meets companion for honeymoon

Mr Whitbread, from Donisthorpe, sold £10 raffle tickets for the holiday after his fiance of two years jilted him and he decided not to cancel the trip. Two people who bid thousands for the ticket on eBay also pulled out.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain before meeting his travel companion, Mr Whitbread admitted he was “slightly worried” about the holiday but said it would be “exciting and an adventure”.

Mr Whitbread, who has raised over £2,000 for charity through the raffle, said he had seen a picture of Kelly but they had not met or spoken on the phone.
