New York Times journalists to speak on Cunard cruises

Cunard Line
and the New York Times announced a partnership in which former correspondents,
columnists and writers for the newspaper will be featured speakers on the Queen
Mary 2.

They will
be part of a series of talks on all eastbound transatlantic crossings of Queen
Mary 2 in 2016.

The series will kick off on Jan. 3, 2016, with a program
called “The New York Times Insights Cruise.”
Speakers will include former foreign correspondent and columnist Clyde
Haberman; science writer John Schwartz; Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative
journalist David Cay Johnston; national security reporter Michael Schmidt; and
Peter Lewis, former senior writer at the New York Times and Fortune Magazine.

“This will be an exciting enhancement to our
Cunard Insights program, with a caliber of experts that will surely spark a stimulating and
thought-provoking experience for our guests,” said Cunard North America’s president, Rick Meadows.

Passengers can buy a pre-cruise and
onboard package for the Jan. 3 sailing that includes a tour of the newsroom and
brunch at the New York Times prior
to sailing, as well as additional onboard elements. The program is capped at
100 guests and must be booked by contacting Times Journeys directly.
