GPS Navigation App

After last week’s trip, readying up on some uses of GPS systems and some consideration, I have decided to go on and use both the inbuilt GPS in my car, alongside the GPS navigation app on my smartphone which has saved me from big hassles in my trip.

I think making use of a combination of the in-built GPS system in my car; along with the real time GPS on my smartphone will offer great benefits. While this may seem like overkill to some, this technique is completely foolproof and having two working systems will allow me to never have to stop to ask for directions to a place or ever losing my way about.

In fact, I think that the two systems will complement each other very well. The GPS software in the car updates itself automatically and so does the smartphone app. This means that all I need to do is to key in my destination on both the systems and then the best route is suggested to me. While the car GPS system will provide many other statistics and data regarding the vehicle, the smartphone app will allow me to receive real time data on traffic en route. The app also offers other social features, offering information related to landmarks around an area and an option to interact with other drivers using the same app. One of the best features of both systems is the voice alert features. This enables me to concentrate completely on driving without having to look at the screen for directions.

The GPS navigation app on smartphones has proven to come really handy to a friend of mine as well. There was this one particular incident where he was able to interact with some of the other drivers around the area he was driving in. They advised me to take a diversion and he saved up a lot of valuable time on that trip.

Yesterday, on one of my drives out with my niece and nephew, I was really having a tough time. The kids, having gotten into a fight were in a grumpy mood and I needed to cheer them up. The smartphone app helped me out here and it suggested a couple of family restaurants on the road we were travelling on. Soon, the kids had cheered up after a hearty treat, all thanks to the navigation app.

With the help of the car GPS system, I can get additional information on the fuel consumption, the average speed of travel and many other statistics, which will allow me to determine the health of the engine of my car. Not only will this promoted fuel efficiency, but it will also enabled me to save up on vehicle maintenance costs.

Some high end GPS systems offer a variety of added features and functionality, including large screens for entertainment and also speed detectors. These systems go beyond the basic navigational capabilities of simple GPS systems and allow the driving experience to be much more pleasurable.
