Carnival And Festival Fun Within Easy Reach Of Hotels, Student Dorms In Hong Kong
Udderbelly Festival Hong Kong is making its Asian debut in Hong Kong, following the success of the Udderbelly Festival in London and Udderbelly’s now iconic status at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Udderbelly Festival Hong Kong takes place as part of the AIA Great European Carnival at Central Harbourfront Event Space in Hong Kong Island’s Central area, the city’s iconic skyline providing the backdrop. The AIA Great European Carnival is in town for a 67 day season of rides, games, attractions and family entertainment to 21 February 2016.
Udderbelly Festival Hong Kong is on until 14 February 2016, featuring some of the best shows and artists from London, Australia and the Edinburgh Fringe along with local talent and language performances from Hong Kong. There’s circus, dance, music, beat-boxing and family shows for all ages and tastes, as well as comedy and cabaret over the weekends and holidays.
Hong Kong’s acclaimed MTR (Mass Transit Railway) makes many an event being staged or attraction to visit in Hong Kong easily reached from hotels, serviced apartments and off-campus student housing establishments around the destination. Not least of all Udderbelly Festival Hong Kong and the AIA Great European Carnival; the venue Central Harbourfront Event Space is a five to 10 minute walk from the MTR Admiralty and Central Stations, and a minute’s walk from Central Star Ferry Pier.
From hotels in Kowloon’s Tsim Sha Tsui area across Victoria Harbour, the trip by MTR to Admiralty or Central Stations is a couple of stops in duration, while from Tsuen Wan District in the New Territories it’s a 20 minute ride to Kowloon and 30 minutes to Central.
That means students studying in Hong Kong and staying, for example, at Campus Hong Kong in Tsuen Wan, all the fun and excitement of the festival and the carnival is an easy trip from these stylish dorms and student apartments in Tsuen Wan Road. Opened in 2015, Campus Hong Kong is a vibrant new addition to the Hong Kong student housing scene, offering accommodation in two categories: Bed which is in a shared dormitory and Room, which is a private room with four individual beds for four students.
Facilities at Campus Hong Kong are a state-of-the-art fitness centre, sauna, 25 metre open-air swimming pool and Jacuzzi (in summer time), restaurant and gathering place for socializing and chilling out.
Campus Hong Kong guests can take a complimentary shuttle to and from the nearby MTR, and on to Udderbelly Festival Hong Kong and the AIA Great European Carnival.
Along with the entertainment at Udderbelly Festival Hong Kong, festival-goers will be able to enjoy bars and food outlets serving a range of food from coffee and cake to Thai delights to health salads and the finest Wagyu beef. And what would a festival be without games stalls with prizes to win! Festival-goers can also take their picture with the famous upside down purple cow mascot.
Udderbelly Pasture Passes to the festival are valid for weekends, public holidays and eve of public holidays (after 5 pm). A HK$25 Pasture Pass is required for entry to the Pasture during these days. It’s important to note the Pasture Pass is valid for the Udderbelly Pasture only and does not allow access to the AIA Great European Carnival or to a scheduled performance inside the Udderbelly Theatre.
The AIA Great European Carnival is open daily from 11 am to 11 pm, with tickets at HK$125 for adults (includes 10 Carnival tokens) and HK$90 for children aged three to 11 and Concession (includes seven Carnival tokens).
