Mazloum departs Crystal Cruises, company reorganizes: Travel …

Luxury and lifestyle brand Crystal announced a restructuring
and said its veteran head of operations, Thomas Mazloum, is leaving for an
opportunity outside the cruise industry.

A native of Austria, Mazloum started with Crystal Cruises in
1990 as a desk clerk and was most recently COO. He left Crystal for three years
to be general manager of Epcot at Walt Disney World starting in 2002.

“It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to
Thomas, whose talents have played an instrumental role in establishing Crystal’s
award-winning reputation,” Crystal CEO Edie Rodriguez said.

With Mazloum’s departure, Crystal announced the promotion of
22-year Crystal veteran Toni Neumeister to senior vice president of hotel operations,
responsible for all hotel, food and beverage, entertainment and land programs.

Crystal is also restructuring its vessel operations, with
marine operations reporting to Gustaf Gronberg, senior vice president of marine
operations at Genting Cruise Lines.

Additionally, the company’s casino operations will be headed
up by Terry Smith, current director of casino operations at Crystal Cruises. Casino
operations will be franchised and transferred to Resorts World at Sea.

Neumeister’s 30-plus years of luxury travel experience
includes a career that began with Royal Viking Line. He worked for Cunard and
hotels in Austria before joining Crystal in 1995. For the better part of the
last two decades, he and Mazloum have worked together in developing and
perfecting Crystal’s operations, Crystal said.
