There’s A Strong Case For Why This Caribbean Island Just May Be …

It’s an idyllic setting fit for a prince and princess—and it happens to already have royal ties.

As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials draw nearer, all ears are anxiously awaiting the details, from the dress designer to the bridesmaid list.

What’s kept safely under wraps? Where the royal couple will jet off to following the big day.

But one can certainly speculate, and one of the most obvious choices, it seems, is the tiny island of Nevis.

Part of the island nation that comprises St. Kitts, Nevis is the oldest British colony in the Caribbean. Unlike its more well-known neighbors, Nevis feels like an undiscovered gem in the tropics, with wild donkeys and goats roaming the untouched hills, a single main road, and zero traffic lights. It’s free from chain stores, souvenir stands, and cruise ships—and that’s precisely why people love it.

Among those fans? The royal family. Nevis is said to have been Princess Diana’s favorite island in the Caribbean, which makes it all the more fitting that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might choose it for a honeymoon spot.

Prince Harry visited the island with his mom in 1993, where they stayed at the charming 19-room Montpelier Plantation Beach. Photos from the trip show the royal mother-and-son splashing in the surf. The Prince recently revisited the island as part of a royal tour on behalf of the Queen.
