Grupo Posadas to expand in Caribbean

The Mexican hotel company Grupo Posadas plans to debut two of its brands in the Caribbean this year and next.

The 558-room Grand Fiesta Americana Punta Cana Los Corales All-Inclusive resort will open in the summer of 2019 in the coastal town of Playa Bavaro in the Punta Cana area of the Dominican Republic.

It will be the brand’s ninth property and its first hotel in the Caribbean.

The $130 million development broke ground last December.

Meanwhile, Posadas’ Fiesta Americana brand will debut in Cuba in July with a 633-room property in Playa Varadero and a 749-room resort in Holguin.

The hotel company, based in Mexico City, has more than 170 hotels and resorts in Mexico among its seven brands.
