For Angelina Mullins Prattes, Disney World is her magic place

Mansfield native Angelina Mullins Prattes began her professional career with the Boston Ballet when she was 9 years old. Now 32, she has performed on Broadway and in numerous national tours — including “Aladdin,” which comes to the Boston Opera House for a monthlong run beginning July 5. “I love the Opera House. The last show I did there was ‘Spamelot,’ ” she said. “Being back in Boston . . . it’s such a full-circle kind of experience.” The performer, who is in the ensemble in “Aladdin,” said she is looking forward to having “some nice family time” — including with her parents, who still live in Mansfield — when she is in Massachusetts. We caught up with Mullins Prattes, who lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Colt Prattes, an actor, and their two dogs, to talk about all things travel.

Favorite vacation destination? My husband . . . and I are both performers and travel the world for work. When we are able to find time with our busy schedules we choose Disney World. There is no better place, in my opinion, for a couple to reconnect and remember the magic. Colt and I honeymooned at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort for a two-week honeymoon in 2013. He was traveling the world as Pink’s backup dancer and I was able to steal him away for a two-week escape. The Yacht Club Resort became our favorite hotel ever since. We are experts at planning a full itinerary of play time and romantic time. Not many people realize how many gorgeous restaurants and spas there are at Disney World. It’s an adults’ paradise where everything from your room key, to your Fast Passes, to your tab at the tequila bar, can be handled with a touch of the Disney magic wristband. Our favorite time of the year to go is right after Christmas when we can celebrate our anniversary on Dec. 28 and ring in the new year. The winter season at Disney is so magical and it has become a major tradition in our little family.

Favorite food or drink while vacationing? My favorite spot to dine in Disney World is at Be Our Guest restaurant. We had to pull a few strings to get reservations the first few years, but it was worth it. From the moment you walk in, you are transported into the story [of “Beauty and the Beast”]. We always reserve the two-top near the Christmas tree so we can take in the full view of the gorgeous ballroom. We start by having a bottle — or two — of Iron Horse’s “Fairytale” Cuvee sent to the table. It’s my favorite evening of the trip. I am also a major sucker for the Luau at the Polynesian Resort. We always make it a point to go every time we are in Disney, and between the massive tiki drinks, dancing, and music, it’s an amazing date night.

Where would you like to travel to but haven’t? India. I have always wanted to go for a few months and study, but I have yet to find the time in the last 10 years. Yoga, reiki, and alternative medicine play a major role in my life and I would love to take some time to myself and dig in someday.

One item you can’t leave home without when traveling? My girls. And by that I mean my fur angels. They are our greatest gifts. Missy is an 11-year-old Maltese and Mya is an 8-year-old lab mix. They are our children and we travel the world with them. Mya is pretty spoiled because she is a little too large for a coach seat, so she has to fly first class.

Aisle or window? Aisle. I love to enjoy a cocktail on the plane and I have a small bladder.

Favorite childhood travel memory? We didn’t have a lot when my brother and I were very young. My Dad was still building his business and my parents did an amazing job of making the most of everything, so we often went camping at the Yogi Bear Park [Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park] in New Hampshire. My mom, who is a city girl from Everett, would bring her huge pot of sauce and meatballs. She would plug our hot rollers into the electric outlet at the campsite and we’d be curling our hair, and eating a full Italian dinner around the campfire.

Guilty pleasure when traveling? Eating everything I see. Calories don’t exist on vacation. End of the story.

Best travel tip? Oregano oil. I am a doTERRA junkie and I won’t travel without this stuff. With a few drops of this essential oil, you can cure anything from strep throat to a horrible stomach bug.
