Cruise secrets: Secret line crew use to play this prank on passengers
The ex-cruise worker revealed on Reddit that “a favourite [prank] was, while in a passenger area to say to another crew member, loud enough to be heard by passengers, ‘Meet you in the bowling alley tonight!’
“Of course, there wasn’t actually a bowling alley on board. “Then we’d wait for the comment cards to come in: ‘Why do crew get a bowling alley when we don’t?’”
However, sometimes there actually are secret areas that are off limit to cruise guests.
According to James Abbgy on Quora, who has worked on Royal Caribbean since 2016, there are secret passageways for crew members to use unnoticed.
He explained: “There’s a network of corridors, elevators, stairs, etc. that are off-limits to guests, that let us get pretty much anywhere unseen.”
Abbgy continued: “We keep records on our guests. Nothing stalker-ish, but we keep track of who complains a lot, or big spenders in the casinos.”
