Choosing a honeymoon destination can be overwhelming for any couple, but it doesn’t have to be.

Travel expert Ramesh Jeenarain has some advice for planning a romantic breakaway with your significant other.

Jeenarain is the managing director of South African tour operator, World Leisure Holidays, and suggests that couples consult a travel expert well in advance.

He says partners should plan the honeymoon together in order to accommodate each other’s expectations.

Couples need to consider their budget, the time of year they wish to travel and their preferred climate.

They must also establish whether they are seeking relaxation and pleasure, adventure and activities or cultural immersion, he adds.
