Cruises: Beat cruise ship luggage rules by doing this on board a cruise ship

Cruise ship libraries offer a wide selection of books which can be read in the library or elsewhere on the ship – as long as they are returned before passengers disembark for good.

A spokeswoman for Princess Cruises told Express.co.uk: “I can confirm that there is a library on all of our ships. The library area is open for browsing and reading 24 hours a day, and a member of the entertainment staff is in attendance at certain times as noted in the Princess Patter.

“Ships are stocked with an extensive library including contemporary titles in a wide range of categories. There are books on art, history, sports, travel, health and wellness, natural history, and reference materials, including a world atlas and dictionary.

“In addition, there is also have a selection of board games available for guests to enjoy and can be checked out by a member of the entertainment staff.

“Guests are welcome to read a book within the library itself or check it out to read elsewhere around the ship.”

Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line and Carnival all also confirmed they had libraries on board.
