7 adults-only features on Disney’s Fantasy cruise ship
Disney Cruise Lines strives to give cruisers of all ages their own hangout spot — children, teens, and, yes, adults too.
On a recent media tour, we got a chance to explore some of those adults-only offerings ourselves on Disney’s Fantasy — but many of these features are available on all of the Disney cruise ships. Here are the features that stood out to us:
The Art of the Theme Show
If Disney’s gift for theming has always fascinated you, this might be an ideal tour. Developed with Disney Imagineers, this in-depth ship tour shares some of the details and inspirations for the ship’s look. Learn the story behind the names, color palette, materials, art and more on the ship.
Dining
Two adults-only restaurants are available on Disney cruise ships:
- Palo focuses on modern Italian fare in a beautiful setting that focuses on sweeping ocean views. A champagne brunch is also served.
- Remy, which is available only on the Fantasy and the Dream, treats its diners to a lavish French-inspired meal in an opulent setting. For fans of “Ratatouille,” a small dining room is made to look like the restaurant from the movie. This is another restaurant that offers champagne brunch during sea days and select port days.
Be Our Chef
This new cooking class gives guests a behind-the-scenes look at Palo’s kitchens. During our class, we rolled our Margherita pizzas, filled butternut agnolottis, and whipped up limoncello tarts. Learning to make these dishes was fun, but it was especially exciting to meet the chefs. Following the tutorials, we lunched on versions of our fare in Palo itself — with a few wine pairings.
The experience is $279 per person, which includes a personalized Palo chef’s jacket, apron, hat and name tag, a keepsake menu, recipe cards and photos with the chef as well as a celebrity. The class is only available on Disney’s Fantasy.
Quiet Cove Pool
After sliding along water coasters, adults can get a little respite from the poolside mayhem at one of two pools, including the Quiet Cove Pool, which features a swim-up pool bar. Lounge on the adults-only deck — or head to the Cove Cafe for coffee, light snacks or a stronger drink.
Satellite Sun Deck
Check out the water features on this deck — the Satellite Falls. The circular splash pools have benches to better enjoy the water fall.
Europa
Bar hopping is encouraged at this entertainment district that houses four unique pubs: the Skyline, a moodily lit lounge that sports ever-changing views of cities around the world (think London, Athens, and Naples); O’Gills Pub, an Irish bar; La Piazza, a carousel bar inspired by Italian cities; The Tube, a club inspired by the London Underground; and Ooh La La, a lounge with the feel of a French boudoir.
Similar entertainment areas are available on the other cruise ships — with different names: The District on the Disney Dream and AfterHours on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder.
