Maximizing Your Beaches Resorts Sales
The trick to increasing your Beaches Resorts sales is to focus heavily on creating and sustaining repeat business. And after a healthy stream of repeat business is established, the referrals will come pouring in, said Caribbean resort expert Penny Sheldon of Boise, Idaho-based Penny Sheldon Travel.
Here’s more on what Sheldon, a top-producing travel advisor for Sandals Resorts International, the parent company of Beaches Resorts, had to say about how you can maximize your Beaches sales.
Getting in Front of the Client
“I send out a monthly email blast with news and specials to keep my name in front of my clients,” she said. “It serves as a reminder to kick-start vacation planning.” And that consistent reminder invariably leads to referrals. “Much more than repeat customers, referrals are the crowning glory in this business,” Sheldon said. “I could write a book about where referrals come from.”
Finding Referrals in Unlikely Places
She added, “One honeymoon couple got my name from their jeweler, whose neighbor had bragged about my service to him. Another told me that a friend’s sister’s cousin recommended me. One cold Sunday morning, some clients went out for breakfast in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
They were talking about going to someplace warm and their waitress recommended me. Another client had met someone on a flight who gave them my card.”
Sheldon added that many of her clients ask her to “send them extra business cards because they always carry them to hand out during elevator chit chat.”
Selling Beaches Resorts to Families
As a top-producing Beaches agent, Sheldon knows that the product has much to recommend it.
Beaches Negril, for instance, enhanced its categories of rooms and suites with nine new family-friendly, high-end suites. The best of these rooms is perhaps the Negril Luxury King category. These remodeled rooms span the first through third floors of the Montpelier buildings and offer impressive views of gardens from a private patio or balcony.
Each room includes a king-size bed, a pullout sofa, a flatscreen TV and an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and shower combination. The room also includes a refrigerator stocked with bottled water, juice and soda. Robert Mondavi varietal wines and local beer are available upon request.
Another great option for families at Beaches Negril is the Tropical Beachfront Two-Bedroom Grand Butler Family Suite. These newly renovated suites include two bedrooms, three full bathrooms with a bathtub and shower combination, and a living room that leads out to a private balcony overlooking the resort’s gardens.
A solid fit for larger families, these suites are located on the first through fourth floors of the Montpelier buildings. The first bedroom includes a king-size bed and a single pullout sofa bed, while the other features two double beds and a single pullout sofa bed.
Beaches Negril also recently added Yoyo’s Frozen Yogurt Bar, which offers a unique variety of self-serve frozen yogurt, gelato and sorbet.
