‘Game of Thrones’ may be over but you can still experience the magic through travel
“Game of Thrones” aired its final episode on Sunday night. But that doesn’t mean the journey has to end for fans itching for a closer look at where the show came to life.
People can travel to locations where HBO filmed the behemoth series to keep the magic alive (whether they were satisfied with its conclusion or not).
One tourist draw is the “Game of Thrones” museum in Split, Croatia, located near places “Thrones” filmed. Visitors can check out everything from replicas of weapons and costumes, not to mention a dragon head.
“Everything is just like in the series,” Luka Galic, the person behind the museum, told the Croatia Times. “The exhibits are exact replicas of scenes, symbols and characters from the (show). Over 40 people worked on this project, all of them huge fans of HBO’s dark fable that we wanted to present here.”

Elsewhere, Cruise Croatia is giving fans the chance to win a luxury seven-night “Game of Thrones” cruise around the country. The cruise will take the winner and three friends to “iconic Game of Thrones filming locations” and give them “exclusive ‘GoT’ goodie bags on arrival” plus “a special farewell party in King’s Landing.” Fans will also get guided tours of both Split and Dubrovnik.
Fans can enter the competition now by filling out this form, telling Cruise Croatia which characters they are most like (though the winner will be chosen at random). The cruise leaves from Split on Aug. 8.
Before you pack your bags, however, be warned: Dubrovnik has felt an onslaught of mass tourism as a result of the series. People bump into each other on the famous limestone-paved Stradun, the pedestrian street lined with medieval churches and palaces, as fans of the series search for the locations where it was filmed.

the Game of Thrones Legacy attractions, was said to include the picturesque sets of Winterfell (home to the Starks), Castle Black (the headquarters of the Night’s Watch) and King’s Landing (the capital where Cersei Lannister and, more importantly, the Iron Throne resided).
