As much as we adore celebrity weddings, we definitely have a soft spot in our hearts for celebrity honeymoons. There’s something about living vicariously through someone else’s luxurious vacation that really helps us get through the workday back at home — even if it just means waiting for an update on Instagram or Twitter. It’s really sweet to see our favorite stars beginning their lives together as a married couple in this way … and their definitions have given us some serious inspiration for future vacations of our own.

Between Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner‘s tropical resort honeymoon (with a waterslide leading straight into the ocean,at that) earlier this summer and Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler’s Italian vacation after walking down the aisle back in 2013, there’s so much to love about all the sweet moments that these celebrity couples have shared with their fans. 

Anyone who’s gotten married — or has even been in a wedding party — knows that weddings are so stressful, no matter who’s walking down the aisle, and penciling in that downtime together to unwind afterwards is so crucial. It’s a big, expensive event, and relaxing afterwards is totally necessary — not to mention a really romantic time the couple will remember forever.

Here’s a look at some of the best celebrity honeymoons. Whether the stars only recently tied the knot or have been married for years, we’re still gushing over their getaways — so much, in fact, that it’s hard not to book a vacation to a Caribbean island ourselves!

    When Gwyneth and Brad went on their honeymoon in January, it was a little unconventional. Not only did they bring the whole fam, but Gwyneth’s ex husband, Chris Martin, also came along to the Maldives.

    “My new husband and his children, my children, my ex-husband, our best family friends,” Gwyneth said when she shared the guest list on Live With Kelly and Ryan, according to USA Today. “It was a very modern honeymoon.”

    And fortunately enough, they were in some pretty awesome locations. 

    “He’s a chef, so he was cooking in Sonoma at Scribe Vineyards,” she said at the time, via People. So I followed him there. And then he was cooking at a festival in Milan, and I heard that they invented pasta and wine. So I’ve just been kind of following him around getting drunk.”

    “They enjoyed the beach and the ocean,” a source close to the couple told the outlet. “They also went on several adventurous outings near their hotel. They seemed to have a great honeymoon.”
