Travel deal: Humbled line Carnival offers cheap cruises

Carnival wants your business back.

The beleaguered cruise line has amazing deals on cruises as it tries to regain public trust after a series of sailing mishaps in the past year.

Ask a travel agent for help to find the best deal, but here are two examples: It’s just $579 per person (ocean-view room) for a five-day western Caribbean cruise on Carnival Elation from New Orleans, leaving Dec. 23. It’s $469 per person (ocean view) for a six-day cruise on Carnival Breeze out of Miami departing Dec. 15. Carnival also has reduced deposit requirements. Can’t beat that.
