Magical Alaskan Cruise Sweepstakes 3/10/14
Official Rules
1. TO ENTER: You must be 18 years of age or older and a legal resident NY, NJ or CT at the time of entry. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Sweepstakes begins 3/10/14 at 5AM EST and ends 3/14/14 at 9AM EST, (the “Sweepstakes Period”). To enter, watch THE PIX 11 MORNING NEWS on WPIX-TV during the Sweepstakes Period; each day a different code word will be displayed on screen and viewers will be directed to enter the Sweepstakes as described below. Entries must be received by 11PM ET at the end of the sweepstake period (3/14/14).
a. Enter via Facebook: Using the feature on the PIX 11 facebook page, enter with the daily code word. Only entries containing the correct keyword shall be eligible.
b. Enter On-Line: Log onto PIX11.COM and follow the Sweepstakes link until reaching the entry page. Complete the entire entry form, including the daily code word, your name, age, valid email address, telephone or mobile phone number. On-line entries containing attachments, generated by a script, macro or other automated means shall be disqualified. On-line entrants must use their own name. Copies or other mechanical reproductions, facsimiles, entries containing technical or electronic reproductions, entries containing attached files are not eligible and will be rejected.
c. Restrictions: By entering, entrants agree to be bound by and comply with these Official Rules. One entry per person per code word and per entry method per day (for a maximum of 10 entries per person); subsequent entries originating from a unique or from a single e-mail address (in the case of On-Line Entries) will be disqualified. Sponsors are not responsible for lost, incomplete, damaged, illegible, late, or misdirected entries, or for errors in mechanical transmission, unavailability of phone lines or internet connections, or any other technical malfunctions or inability to transmit messages or entries.
2. SELECTION OF WINNERS: One (1) winner will be selected at random from among all eligible entries received, and will be tentatively declared a winner by 3/20/14 (subject to verification and compliance with these rules). The winner will be notified by telephone. Failure to timely respond will result in disqualification and possible selection of an alternate winner from remaining eligible entries (at Sponsor’s sole discretion). Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.
3. PRIZES PRIZE RESTRICTIONS: One Grand Prize winner will receive a 7-night cruise for four (4) aboard the Disney Wonder to Alaska, including four (4) roundtrip coach airfares from a major airport nearest the winner’s residence to Vancouver, Canada (winner must live more than 200 miles from Vancouver in order to receive the air travel portion of the prize), round trip ground transfers from Vancouver airport to the ship’s homeport, one (1) stateroom aboard the Disney Wonder with maximum occupancy of (4) people, all meals onboard the Cruise Ship (with the exception of Palo Fine Dining), Government Taxes and Fees (as defined by Disney Cruise Line). Grand Prize travel and arrangements are subject to availability, holiday, blackout dates and other restrictions. The Grand Prize is non-transferable. If the Grand Prize Winner in unable to use the prize, prize shall be forfeited and no alternate Grand Prize will be awarded, nor will an alternate Grand Prize Winner will be selected. Prize trip includes only the elements specified in these Official Rules. Grand Prize Winner and his/her guest shall be responsible for all other expenses that may be incurred during the prize trip, including but not limited to local transportation, meals, entertainment, sightseeing, room service, and gratuities.
Conditions on Travel Elements: Grand Prize Winner and his/her guests must be eighteen years of age at the time of travel (except that the Grand Prize Winner’s minor children will be allowed to accompany the Grand Prize Winner on the trip), must travel on the same itinerary, and must possess all required travel documents. Travel may only be redeemed on the dates and at times determined by Sponsor and/or Prize Provider. Air travel is non-transferable, not changeable and not valid for upgrades and/or frequent flyer miles. Grand Prize Winner and his/her guests will be responsible for all baggage fees, meals, incidentals, telephone charges, ground transportation, and any other fees and expenses incurred in connection with the travel portion of the Grand Prize. Grand Prize Winner may be required to present at least one valid major credit card in order to check into the Disney Wonder. Sponsor and prize provider shall not be responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions or substitution or any act or omissions whatsoever by the air carriers, cruise ship, or any other persons or entities providing any of these Travel elements or services.
If the Grand Prize Winner is not able to redeem any element of the prize, Winner shall forfeit the prize (or such prize element) and no additional or substitute prize or compensation will be provided. If Grand Prize Winner elects to travel without guests, no additional compensation will be awarded.
No substitutions will be made for any prize except at the discretion of the Sponsor, which may substitute a prize of greater or comparable value.
4. CONDITIONS RESTRICTIONS: Entrants agree Sponsor has the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising from this Sweepstakes and that its decision is final and binding. Except where prohibited by law, entrants 16 years of age and older agree to allow use of their name, voice, photograph, likeness and any information provided on entry form, in any medium of communication, including print, Internet, radio and/or television and for any purpose, including advertising, promotional or other purposes, by Sponsor and/or its affiliates, without additional compensation. The parents or legal guardians of entrants under 18 years of age may be asked for permission to use the entrant’s name, voice, photograph, likeness and any information provided on entry form, in any medium of communication, including print, Internet, radio and/or television and for any purpose, including advertising, promotional or other purposes, by Sponsors and/or its affiliates, without additional compensation. Winner and his/her travel companions, by acceptance of a prize, agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor, prize provider and each of their respective parent companies and affiliates, and each of their employees, representatives, contractors, sponsors and advertisers, from any and all liability, loss, damage, costs or claims related to any allegation regarding the award of, the receipt of, or the use of their prize. Neither Sponsor nor prize provider is responsible for personal injury of any prizewinner incurred in connection with the use of the prize or any prize element. Winner and his/her travel companions may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability prior to receiving their prize. All federal, state and local laws apply, and this Sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law. Winner must provide proof of legal name, address, zip code, telephone number and social security number to receive prize (for example, in the form of a government-issued drivers license or identification card). 5. ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes is not open to employees of Sponsor, prize supplier, or any of their respective employees. Immediate family members, employees or immediate family members of any of Sponsor’s or prize supplier’s affiliated companies, licensees, advertising or promotional agencies, or sponsors are also ineligible.
6. SPONSOR: Sweepstakes is sponsored by WPIX-TV. Void where prohibited or restricted. 7. If for any reason, this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, tampering, fraud, technical failure, or any other cause which corrupts or threatens the administration, security or integrity of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate or suspend the Sweepstakes or any portion of the Sweepstakes. ANY ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE FAIR AND LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE SWEEPSTAKES. Sweepstakes rules shall be governed and enforced pursuant to NEW YORK law, excluding choice of law provisions.
