Could this be the most epic honeymoon ever?

London – While most couples are perfectly happy with a quick beach break post-wedding, two newlywed Americans decided that their honeymoon would be one of epic proportions.

Daily Mail reports that Mike and Anne Howard set off on an incredible 675-day journey that covered six continents, 33 countries and 302 places. And guess what? They’re still together!

Both having been involved in the media industry, the Howards decided to document their journey, regularly updating their Honeytrek.com blog and social media streams with photos and stories.

“With a little bit of savings, no kids, and good health, we figured there was no better time to travel than now. So we quit our jobs, rented our apartment, and set out on a 675-day honeymoon around the world,” reads the ‘About’ section.

They started their journey in South America, moving on to Africa, Asia, Oceania and finally ending up in Europe.

The philosophy for their trip was to check out all the places that would be too far to travel with a full-time job and with too rough terrain to take on when they’re older.

According to Daily Mail their favourite place was Myanmar (formerly Burma) for the friendly people and fascinating blend of styles and cultures.

A quick squiz through their Instagram feed, revealed that they even visited Boschendal estate right here in Stellenbosch! Check out a few of their pics:
