Another set of newlyweds explained that work commitments meant they had to celebrate their marriage with separate trips.

William Powers went to Paris while his new bride, Melissa Powers, went to the Dominican Republic. 

Dating and relationship experts are divided about whether the trend is a sign of a healthy union or a symptom of deeper trouble.

Jessica Carbino, a sociologist for Bumbl believed ‘solomoons’ simply “signal the continued evolution of marriage.” 

While Helen Fisher from The Kinsey Institute believes taking separate honeymoons is a mistake.

“Perhaps I’m old-fashioned, but I think it should be marked,” she said.
