Norwegian Cruise Line ship stuck in Barcelona with thousands of passengers – latest news

Passengers due to travel have angrily taken to Twitter. One wrote: “what the hell?!? You cancel the cruise 2 days before sailing???? I already flew Miami, Florida to Italy… now what? …. Norwegian Pearl out of Rome July 5 now cancelled… and your customer services does not pick up for hours??? WTH is wrong with you people?!?!”

Those onboard in Barcelona have also taken to social media. One wrote: “The Norwegian Pearl has now canceled two ports of call during its voyage without giving passengers compensation.

“Absolutely unacceptable, especially for a vacation this expensive. Will never sail NCL again.”

In a statement, NCL said: “On July 1, 2019, Norwegian Pearl, which is currently sailing a 13-day repositioning cruise from Northern Europe to the Mediterranean, experienced a mechanical issue which necessitates that she travel at a reduced speed.

“As such, she did not call to Palma, Majorca, and instead sailed directly to Barcelona where further assessments were made.
