They have also recently installed a water bottling plant on the island itself, allowing them to bottle their own drinking water into reusable glass containers, rather than importing plastic bottled water from other islands.

Il Sereno – Lake Como, Italy

Il Sereno is Lake Como’s first and only contemporary design hotel with a new green initiative to match its bespoke natural colour palette and unparalleled lakeside setting. Furthermore, Il Sereno’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Berton Al Lago, recently launching a seven-course vegetarian tasting menu only using ingredients from the hotel’s own herb garden. Marrying the traditional wooden-boat-building process and the latest ecologically friendly technology, guests will be able to travel via the hotel’s newly developed electric boat service on a 100% electric boat developed in partnership with Cantiere Ernesto Riva.
