Looking to defrost? Try these Caribbean hotels

Astudy released last week found that more than half of Americans would pay at least $500 to skip winter, and I have a hunch that after last week, Bostonians would happily empty their 401(k) accounts to avoid further arctic conditions. The study, conducted by the website Travelzoo
, also found that 75 percent of Americans said that winter hurts them physically, mentally, and emotionally. I can’t make winter go away, but I can point you to some newly-opened and top-ranked Caribbean hotels and resorts where you can defrost for a few days.

The words “sustainable” and “resort” usually don’t appear in the same sentence, but the newly opened, $600 million Kittitian Hill promises to bring locals and visitors together on its 400 acre property with food stalls and arts festivals. The resort takes farm-to-table to new extremes with signs letting visitors know when they can pick fruit from trees.
