Princess Cruises celebrates ‘The Sound of Music’
Princess Cruises said it will revive the family classic “The
Sound of Music” on its Movies Under the Stars pool deck screens this year.
Showings begin in April and will continue once on every
sailing of all 18 ships equipped with the large screens.
“The Sound of Music,” starring Julie Andrews, was released
in 1965, the same year Princess began sailing.
In addition to movie showings, the story will be featured in
a sing-along version in the main theater on Princess ships. The line’s Pop
Choir for guests will sing tunes from the show, written for the 1959 Broadway
musical by Rogers Hammerstein. There will also be a Sound of Music trivia
game to play.
As part of the promotion, Princess is offering movie fans
chances to win a free cruise and a $500 onboard gift card every month through
December.
