Ensemble adds Fathom’s mission cruises as preferred product
Fathom, Carnival Corp.’s new socially conscious cruise
brand, is partnering with agency consortium Ensemble Travel Group as a
preferred supplier.
“We are eager for Ensemble’s members and customers to become
immersed in the Fathom experience to learn, serve and flourish while making
enduring, sustainable societal contributions,” Fathom President Tara Russell
said in a statement.
Fathom will launch in April with roundtrip cruises between
Miami and the Dominican Republic aboard the 710-passenger Adonia. The company is
scheduled to begin voyages between Miami and Cuba in May.
Fathom uses the slogan “impact travel” to describe and
market its cruises. Onboard, passengers will be given an orientation to the
history and culture of the country they are visiting.
Once they arrive, they’ll participate in artistic,
educational and humanitarian exchanges. For example, in the Dominican Republic,
Fathom guests will help teach English and work on water-purification projects.
As part of the new Fathom/Ensemble relationship, Fathom will
offer product trainings at the 2015 Ensemble Travel Group International
Conference, Oct. 25 to 29 at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate.
