Thinking of taking a cruise?

There are hundreds to choose from, with different locations and itineraries.

If you’re like most cruise passengers, you’re also driven by rates and how much you think your cruise will cost you.

But if you want to budget for a cruise vacation properly, you need to consider everything you’re going to pay that goes beyond just what you pay for your cabin.

Most cruise ships post rates that include port charges, government fees, and taxes.

But for a typical one week cruise where the official ticket price might be $3,000?

You’ll need to add the following: optional dining venues aboard the ship, parking at your port of departure, the cost of your hotel room the night before you leave, shore excursions, alcohol purchases, and let’s not forget the charges for using the internet.
