Opening postponed for Norwegian Cruise Line’s private destination in Belize
Norwegian Cruise Line said that opening of Harvest Caye,
its new private island development in Belize, will be postponed until November.
The project previously had been scheduled to open next
month.
In a statement, vice president of passenger services
Vivian Ewart said the delay resulted from a desire to deliver “the highest
quality amenities and services to our guests in one of the richest ecosystems
in the region with a diversity of flora and fauna that is core to the Harvest
Caye experience.”
Norwegian said guests booked on western Caribbean
itineraries that had been scheduled for Harvest Caye between now and
mid-November will stop at Belize City instead.
It said a
communication to booked guests will be sent later this week with revised itinerary
details.
