Royal Caribbean sales executive to join Cruise Planners

Theresa Scalzitti, a Royal
Caribbean International veteran, will join Cruise Planners, an American Express
Travel Representative.

Scalzitti will be Cruise
Planners’ vice president of sales and marketing, a new role at the company,
effective Feb. 29. In her new position, she will manage the strategic direction
of the marketing, sales and business development teams.

She has spent more than two
decades with Royal Caribbean, most recently as a national account sales manager and
senior marketing manager.

According to Cruise Planners,
Scalzitti was “an instrumental player” in growing Cruise Planners agents’ sales
with Royal Caribbean. One of the programs she brought forward was the “Come
Sail Away With Me” marketing and sales campaign, unique to Cruise Planners
agents, which encourages bookings, strengthens client-travel agent
relationships and adds value to bookings.

Vicky Garcia, COO and co-owner of
Cruise Planners, called Scalzitti a “visionary and innovator,” and said her
knowledge of Cruise Planners and the cruise market as a whole will allow her to
“hit the ground running.”

the Royal Caribbean team,” said Vicki Freed, senior vice president of sales and
trade support and service at Royal Caribbean International. “We wish her the
best as she embarks on a new chapter in her career with Cruise Planners.”
