New Seine River cruises offered by Adventures by Disney
Disney’s foray into river cruising will be taking in the City of Lights in 2019 as it adds new Seine River trips on top of more trips on the Rhine and Danube rivers.
Adventures by Disney began offering river cruising in 2016 on the Danube, expanding to the Rhine in 2017, and continuing to sail both rivers in 2018. For 2019, it adds the Seine for 10-day, 9-night trips that feature two days in Paris followed by eight days of sailing with stops in French cities Giverny, Vernon, Le Havre, Conflans and Rouen.
The voyage will offer culinary experiences such as food tasting tours, wine and cheese samplings and a macaron making demonstration. Excursions will include hiking the cliffs of Etretat, canoeing in Rouen, a visit to Monet’s House and Gardens in Giverny, castle tours at Chateau de Bizy, Chateau Malmaison and Chateau Gaillard and a visit to the Normandy American Cemetery.
There are two summer and two fall 2019 dates for the Seine River trips. The fall trips are exclusive to adults with food and wine themed experiences.

With the addition of new sailings along the Seine River, our guests now have a wealth of new destinations and experiences to enjoy in one of the most beautiful and romantic places in the world, France.”
Rhine River cruises will once again visit France, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands. 2019 will feature eight seven-night summer Rhine options as well as two adults-only epicurean sailings in the fall.
2019 voyages include toboggan rides in the Black Forest, Heidelberg Castle tour, visit to medieval village Riquewihr, visit to a chocolate museum, medieval wine caves, a gondola ride, horseback riding and tours of Strasbourg, Amsterdam and Cologne.
Danube River cruises will once again be seven-night voyages with stops in Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. 2019 will feature five summer departures, one holiday-themed sailing in December and one adults-only Oktoberfest-themed sailing in September.
Cruises will feature a visit to Dürnstein Castle, Hungarian cowboy shows, a Bratislava Tour Scavenger Hunt, treetop adventure with views of the Austrian Alps, visit to a salt mine, tours of Salzburg, Budapest, Vienna and more.
Adventures by Disney partners with AMAWaterways for the river voyages with 170-passenger ships with eight adventure guides for the Danube and Rhine cruises. Danube cruises are on the AMAViola and AmaLea, while Rhine cruises are on the AmaKristina and AmaMora. Some of the ships were newly built and featured some family-friendly connected cabins. The new Seine cruises will be on the slightly smaller AmaLyra, which was built in 2009.
The guided travel arm of the Disney empire, Adventures by Disney is entering its 11th year of business. It now offers more than 40 itineraries, mostly land-based adventures, across six continents. The group is under the same Walt Disney Parks Recreation umbrella as Disney Cruise Line and Disney Vacation Club.
