Cruise Planners Is at the Forefront of Travel Agent Technology
It’s no wonder Cruise Planners just won the silver Travvy Award for Best Travel Technology Provider.
The American Express Travel Representative utilizes artificial intelligence (AI), mobile apps and more to train travel agents and make them “tech-perts.”
Among such innovations is a pair of voice-activated Alexa Skills compatible with Amazon devices, allowing both travel professionals and consumers to employ an AI program. For agents that translates into a virtual personal assistant, and for clients that means a way to connect with their agent while planning.

They can inquire about upcoming trips, cruise lines, ships, final payment and more. And agents, can you say, “Alexa, ask Cruise Planners About its Annual Convention,” for instance?
Integrating specifically with the Cruise Planners Alexa Skills is the company’s CP Maxx technology. It’s essentially a next-generation booking and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system focused on efficient profit making.
CP Maxx showcases enhanced live reservations, Buckets for saving research and extensive Global Search. Buckets retain gathered data about such things as customers, destinations and itineraries. The search feature can then ping such buckets, clients, sales opportunities, travel reservations and an agent knowledge center by keyword, supplier, program, confirmation number, date and more.
There’s even a mobile version of CP Maxx for accessing client and booking data on smartphones. Meanwhile, for clients, there’s also the free CP Mobile App with their own means of looking up trip details and making reservations.

By extension, the CP Web Program allows agents to customize their own consumer-facing Cruise Planners website. From there, clients can book cruises and shore excursions, as well as purchase travel insurance. CPsocial extends the engagement on Facebook with additional content.
What’s more, CP Insights helps target the ideal client at the proper time with specific marketing, and CP View demographically matches cruises and itineraries with certain customers. The CP Hub takes it further as a sales opportunity management tool integrated into a calendar.
Bringing it all together, of course, is proper training, and Cruise Planners offers its Cruisitude Academy. The online and on-demand program includes over 600 modules, videos, webinars and courses and can be accessed via desktop computer, mobile device or iPad app.

Cruise Planners stresses that these innovations are not only to make agents high-tech but also high-touch.
After all, Michelle Fee, CEO and co-founder of the company has said, “All of these tools and announcements are designed with the travel agent in mind. We specifically create innovative technology and marketing programs to enhance travel agents’ individual businesses. We want them to stay competitive while focusing on travel and still being involved in their communities.”
