Royal Caribbean brings shipboard entertainment to CruiseWorld …

Royal Caribbean International will bring the award-winning entertainment from its Symphony of the Seas to the CruiseWorld stage to close out the General Session on Nov. 8.

Royal Caribbean has been highlighting its onboard entertainment at CruiseWorld since 2016, starting with an unprecedented opportunity that year for CruiseWorld’s attendees to join the naming ceremony on board the Harmony of the Seas. Last year, the line surprised the CruiseWorld audience with a special performance of its onboard musical, “Grease” to close Thursday’s general session. Like that event, details of this year’s performance will not be released until showtime.

“We truly value our travel professional partners, and we know that when they sell a cruise vacation, they are selling the full experience. Having an opportunity to experience our shipboard entertainment is a critical part of providing them with a true feel for the product and the ability to share that experience with their clients,” said Vicki Freed, senior vice president of sales and trade support and service for Royal Caribbean International.

“Our senior vice president of Royal Entertainment Royal Caribbean Productions, Nick Weir, also values the significant impact our travel agency partners have on helping their customers make the right decision with their vacation dollars,” she added. “Nick genuinely enjoys bringing his performers to the source and giving our agency partners the chance to understand the power of our entertainment product.”

On Thursday, Nov. 8, the Royal Caribbean family will take the stage as Travel Weekly editor in chief Arnie Weissmann conducts CruiseWorld’s first interview with executive vice president and CFO Jason Liberty. Also taking the stage will be Celebrity Cruises’ senior vice president of sales and trade support and service Dondra Ritzenthaler, who will bring attendees the latest updates on the upcoming arrival of the Celebrity Edge and information about Celebrity’s global portfolio. The cast of the Symphony of the Seas will close out the general session.

CruiseWorld, taking place from Nov. 7 to 9, features C-suite keynote speakers, supplier workshops, peer-to-peer training, a one-day Exhibitor Showcase, sponsored meal functions, ship inspections and significant networking opportunities.

The conference will include three days of general sessions, during which attendees will hear from top leadership in the cruise and tour community, with updates, insights and trends from industry leaders. Over the course of the event, breakout sessions will be held covering every segment of the leisure travel space. Certification programs and CLIA classes will also be offered.

The signature one-day Exhibitor Showcase will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8, with companies representing diverse segments of the travel industry, including airlines, attractions, business tools, car rental, cruise, destinations, hotels and resorts, professional services, tour operators and packaged vacations. Suppliers interested in joining the Exhibitor Showcase should contact Emmy Morales at [email protected].

CruiseWorld’s robust programming provides value for all types of travel advisers, from the home-based professional to the cruise-centered advisers, the seasoned veterans and those new to the industry.
