Perfect honeymoon both romantic and action-packed

The average Brit’s dream honeymoon consists of four days lapping up sunshine in temperatures as high as 27 degrees C, three adrenaline-fuelled activities and two books. 

This is according to new research from Kuoni, which found the modern honeymoon is a mixture of both celebrating a couple’s nuptials and an excuse to tick things off a ‘wish list’.

People are now spending at least two days out of the typical 14 trying out activities such as zip-lining, scuba diving and cage diving with sharks. 

Derek Jones, managing director of Kuoni, said the survey shows that couples still seek the romantic beach ideal, but are also learning towards a more active and cultural experience on honeymoon.

He added: “This means destinations such as Italy and Vietnam are becoming more popular choices than years ago for honeymooners.”

While one in ten people would like to experience a bungee jump on their getaway, the average respondent also said they imagine walking on the beach hand-in-hand at least five times.
